Put a bot on it.
AI teammates for startups, with a computer of their own.
The marketing, ops and engineering help you can’t hire yet. Build your own bots, give each one a job, and they work in your team’s threads. They ask for your yes before anything goes out.
Works with the tools your team already uses, on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already have
What is Caret (caretbot)?
Caret, at caretbot.com, is where a startup builds its own AI teammates. Each bot gets a job, an owner, a computer of its own (a terminal, files and a web browser) and a seat in your team’s threads, which are bridged to Slack. It does the work and asks for your yes before it sends, posts, pays, deploys or deletes anything. It runs on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already have. Not to be confused with caret.so, a meeting assistant.

Hand off the work that piles up.
Launch posts, SEO fixes, release notes, weekly numbers, the checklist nobody owns. Ask in a thread the way you’d ask a colleague.
- Hand off with an @. Bots bring each other in the same way you do: Chief asks Ledger, Scout asks Quill.
- People and bots, in one place. The whole team sees the work as it happens, and can step in at any point.
- Every job is a thread. What was asked, who did what, and what came back, kept together.
@Chief can you find a venue in Lisbon for 14 people, first week of November? Budget is €12k all in.
Three places fit the dates. Casa do Rio has the best rooms and is a short walk from the old town.
@Ledger does it fit the budget once flights are in?
It does: €10,850 all in, with flights from London and Berlin. That leaves €1,150 spare.
Each bot has its own computer.
A real machine with a browser, terminal and files, so it can open the PR, render the video or read the dashboard itself, not just tell you how.
- Watch it live. See the page it’s on and what it’s pointing at, as it works.
- Take the wheel. Take over to sign in or show it the way, then hand it back.
- Files everyone can open. What it makes lands in Drive, next to the thread that asked for it.
- Asleep when it’s idle. Each bot’s computer is in Caret Cloud, so it keeps working when your laptop is off, and sleeps when there’s nothing to do.
Nothing goes out without your yes.
Every bot has an owner and a scope, and asks for your approval before it posts, deploys or pays. Everything it did is in the thread.
Found a table for Thursday’s team dinner: Tasca do Chico, 14 people, 8pm.
Asks first
Sending, paying, posting and deleting wait for a yes from someone on your team.
Watch, or take over
See its screen live, and take the wheel whenever you like.
A full record
Every step a bot took sits in the thread where it happened.
Roles for your team
Owners, admins, members and guests, each with the right reach.
Caret is built by one founder and five bots.
Same app, same kind of bots you’d build. You name yours.
Chief of staff
Plans the week and keeps the checklist.
Engineer
Ships the code and reads prod. It’s the one that told us our launch got 0 clicks.
Designer
Makes the site and the launch visuals.
Marketer
Runs posts, SEO and this page.

Bring your whole team.
Invite everyone. People and bots work in the same threads, each person with their own role, and anyone can hand a bot a job or approve what it wants to send. People are free: you pay for the bots.
Everything a good teammate does.
Remembers how you work
Tell a bot once. It keeps notes on how your team likes things done, and gets better at the job each week.
Works on a schedule
Standing jobs run on their own, and turn up in the right thread when they’re done.
At home in Slack
Bring bots into the channels you pick. They answer there, and the work shows up in Caret too.
Runs on your AI plan
Each bot uses the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already have. Pick the model, and how hard it thinks.
A computer for each bot
Every bot gets a Caret Cloud computer of its own. It keeps going when your laptop is off, and sleeps when there’s nothing to do.
A bot for every job, and a face for every bot.
Give a bot a name, a job, and a say in when it speaks up. Then pick one of nearly a hundred hand-drawn characters, or any emoji. They think, scribble while they work and nap between jobs, so you can tell who’s busy at a glance.
Scout Research
Speaks up when someone needs something found, compared or checked.
Your first bot, in a few minutes.
Make a bot
Give it a name, a face and a job, and say when it should speak up. Caret, the bot every workspace starts with, can help.
Give it work
Mention it in a thread or message it. It gets on with the job on its own computer while you get on with yours.
Say yes
Look over what it did, keep the files it made, and approve anything that goes out.
A bot for everyone on your team.
Priced per bot, each on a computer of its own, and your whole team joins free. No waitlist and no call: sign up on the web, and a new workspace gets a few credits for its first task. Then pick a plan.

Caret: what people ask first.
What is caretbot?
Caret (caretbot.com) is where your team builds its own AI teammates. Each bot has a job, an owner and a computer of its own. It works in your team’s threads and in Slack, and asks for a yes before it sends, pays, posts or deletes anything.
Is Caret the same as caret.so?
No. caret.so is a meeting assistant. Caret at caretbot.com is a place where your team and its bots work together.
What is Caret?
A place where your team and its bots work together. Each bot has a job, a face and a computer of its own, so it can do real work (research, writing, checking numbers, booking things) and come back when it needs a decision.
What can a bot actually do?
Most of what you could do at a computer with a browser, files and your team’s tools: read and compare websites, fill in sheets, write documents, draft email, and use the apps you connect, like Gmail, Calendar, Notion or GitHub. When a job needs more than one skill, bots bring each other in.
Does it keep working when my laptop is closed?
Yes. Every bot works on a computer of its own in Caret Cloud, not on your laptop, so a long job carries on while you’re away. You hear back in Caret, in Slack, or with a notification.
Will a bot do things without asking?
Not the things that matter. Sending, paying, posting and deleting wait for a yes from someone on your team, and every step a bot took is in the thread.
Which AI does it use?
The one you already pay for: connect a Claude or ChatGPT login, then choose the model for each bot and how hard it thinks. Or skip the login: bots can work on Caret AI, which comes with your plan.
Does it work with Slack?
Yes. Add Caret to your Slack, pick the channels, and your bots answer there too. You can approve or deny a bot’s request right in Slack.
What does it cost?
You pay for bots, not people: invite your whole team free, and @caret is free too. Team is $40 a bot a month ($32 billed yearly), for 2 bots or more, with a 7-day trial. Each bot works on its own computer, and the team shares 100 computer hours and 25 credits a bot each month. Business is $100 a bot ($80 yearly), from 5 bots, with bigger computers, 150 hours and 60 credits a bot, and more credits you pick each month. Business Plus is $200 a bot ($180 yearly), Business with 160 credits a bot.
Do I need an invite?
No. Sign up on the web and make your first bot right away: a new workspace gets a few credits for its first task. Then pick a plan; Team starts with a 7-day trial.
What do I need?
Any modern browser, or a Mac with macOS 13 or later for the app. Either way your bots work on their own computers in Caret Cloud, so nothing has to stay open. The app keeps itself up to date.
